Wrestling for a Cause began with a little boy named Ryder who was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in May 2011. In October 2011, a fundraiser was held for Ryder and his family. This fundraiser featured professional wrestlers from around the state of Oklahoma coming together to entertain this little boy, his family, his friends, and his supporters. One of those wrestlers was Tim Johnson, better known by his ring name as Tim Rockwell. Tim had become friends with Ryder and his family and he was inspired by this event to create Wrestling for a Cause.
Since October 2011, Wrestling for a Cause (WFC) has put on more than 30 fundraisers and raised over $65,000 for Oklahoma families affected by childhood cancer.
DIYKicks has joined forces with WFC to fight childhood cancer by releasing a collection of WFC themed kicks.
